Care and support at AIHA

Housing with care and support has always been a priority. For AIHA, every person needing support is an individual – and of paramount importance to us.

AIHA provides 200 specialist housing places for people who need care and support. Housing for vulnerable people has always been a priority for us, and we are proud of our outstanding provision.

Our facilities cater for a very wide range of needs, ranging from a Mother and Baby Home to care homes for older people. Our provision is either managed directly by AIHA or by our trusted community partners. These include Beis Brucha in Hackney, Beenstock Home for older people in Manchester and Yad Voezer for disabled people.

For AIHA, every person needing support is an individual and of paramount importance to us. We work hard to uphold the fine reputation we have earned for caring and will continue to explore innovative ways to help people lead independent lives by offering the level of support they require to do so.

Care and support run by AIHA

AIHA directly runs four care facilities, employing over 145 team members to deliver the highest standard of care and support. All team members are appropriately qualified; our continuous staff training programme ensures that our high standards are maintained in line with the latest initiatives and developments in care practices.

Schonfeld Square

Schonfeld Square Homes for older people

Beis Pinchos and Fradel Lodge

Schonfeld Square is the largest Orthodox Jewish care facility in Europe.

The complex is set on 4 floors with two wheelchair accessible lifts. The home shares beautiful communal areas and has a Reception area which is dedicated in memory of Rabbi Dr Solomon Schonfeld.

Schonfeld Square is built around a large landscaped garden comprising a number of comfortable and peaceful areas for residents to enjoy. The garden is easily accessible for all including wheelchair users and includes shaded areas for the comfort and safety of residents in the summer months.

Schonfeld Square residents and tenants benefit from living and being supported in an Orthodox Jewish environment. Our ethos is to provide opportunities to live a full and rich cultural and religious life, as well as receiving the highest standard of care possible.

Beis Pinchos

Beis Pinchos is the 44 bed care and nursing home in Schonfeld Square, and is rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Nursing and care staff are on hand throughout the day, 24 hours, 7 days a week, to respond to residents’ needs, with very high care ratios provided.

For more about Beis Pinchos, visit the Schonfeld Square website.

Fradel Lodge

Fradel Lodge consists of 40 flats for independent living. Whilst most residents are of retirement age, our flexible policy means younger residents with disabilities also benefit from the excellent accommodation, beautiful grounds and the many support services provided, including social activities and community events.

Often our tenants’ needs change as time moves on, and we can provide care from Fradel Lodge Domiciliary Care Services, which is rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission. For more about Fradel Lodge, visit the Schonfeld Square website.

Supported housing for mental health users

AIHA runs two facilities for people with mental health needs.

Beis Rochel at 52 Lordship Park is a beautiful Victorian house with 9 self-contained flats for women with mental health needs.

4 Rookwood Road is a modern, purpose built home with 6 self-contained flats for men with mental health needs.

AIHA provides a high level of practical and emotional support to enable our tenants to live as independently as possible, and wherever possible to move on to homes in the community. Nominations to live in these properties will usually need to be made with local authority mental health teams.
